SEP IRA stands for Simplified Employee Pension Plan. This account is a type of traditional IRA that offers business owners with one or more employees and individuals with freelance income a simpler way to carry retirement accounts.
Employers make direct contributions to the employee’s account without all of the paperwork. Employees can also make their individual IRA contribution to their SEP IRA, and like a traditional IRA, the money is not taxable until withdrawn.
