Job Summary: The Branch Customer Service Representative position is part of the bank’s retail area and will report directly to the Branch Manager. The primary responsibility of this position is to help deepen customer relationships, attract additional customers and improve customer service. This position is responsible for opening new deposits, selling additional products to customers and prospects and supporting the overall sales efforts of the bank. The hours of this position may vary, depending on current sales efforts and overall needs of the branch. This position will also be responsible for completing sales activities to help attract new customers. These duties will include originating phone contact and letters to customers and prospects, soliciting banking relationships, developing prospect lists, and other tasks as requested by the branch manager and department head. The position requires the employee to be cross-trained as a Teller and be able to be cross-utilized based on the needs of the branch office. This position will comply with the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC an USA PATRIOT Act including Customer Identification Program for new customers, accurate completion of new account activity profile, identifying high risk accounts at account opening, and reporting suspicious activities to supervisor.
Responsibilities, Accountabilities, and Duties
• Will open deposit accounts for customers. This position will be responsible for opening accounts for customers and cross-selling additional banking products and services.
• Will take installment loan and credit card applications.
• Support customers with maintenance questions concerning their accounts. This will include address changes, check orders and the like.
• Sends out thank-you cards and other customer cards and memos the bank originates.
• Follow up with new customers as part of the bank’s onboarding process.
• This position will serve as the branch back up teller when necessary
• Responsible for selling products and services to customers and cross-selling additional products and services to existing customers. Set sales goals in accordance with objectives and goals as determined by Management. Sales achievement will be an important part of the overall performance measure in this job.
• Responsible for calling current customers and prospects to solicit banking relationships and to deepen current banking relationship. Set up follow up appointments for branch managers.
• Actively participate in the various retail product campaigns the bank initiates. Activities will include phone solicitation of new accounts from targeted customers.
• This position will know other products the bank offers. Identify and complete referrals to other lines of business including but not limited to: Mortgage loans, Commercial Loans, Cash Management, Investments and Insurance.
• Sales and call activity will be reportable to and monitored by the Branch Manager on a monthly basis. Contribute to the responsibility to meet monthly branch and/or individual goals on a consistent basis by monitoring self-performance and following action plans.
• Develop business by calling on current customers and prospects to solicit and deepen banking relationships;
• Provide loan processing support for the Lending Department, to include taking applications and pulling credit reports; Take consumer loan and credit card applications, and assist with loan closings;
• Complete loan worksheets for the loan officers, verifying all new loans for accuracy and enter the information into the computer;
• Responsible for selling products and services to customers and cross-selling additional products and services to existing customers; establishing sales goals in accordance with objectives and goals as determined by Management. Sales achievement will be an important part of the overall performance measure in this job.

• Maintain knowledge of the bank’s services and products, referring customers to the appropriate department in the bank for service; and training staff members to do the same;
• Identify and complete referrals to other lines of business including but not limited to: Mortgage loans, Commercial Loans, Cash Management Investments and Insurance;
• Contribute to the responsibility to meet monthly branch and/or individual goals on a consistent basis by monitoring self-performance and following action plans;
• As part of the overall team of bank employees, this position may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalency, preferably an Associate’s Degree in Business, or other business-related field of study; or equivalent, applicable experience in a relevant area of banking
• Minimum two (2) years’ work experience preferably as a bank teller or account opener
• Demonstrated computer skills, preferably working with Microsoft Office products, office systems and programs, with an emphasis on PowerPoint, and the ability to successfully navigate and maintain current knowledge and skills working with technology
• Demonstrated above-average verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage one’s time to complete work according to established deadlines; and the ability to prioritize tasks to make the best use of time for high priority tasks
• Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to learn: In an ever-changing and evolving world of banking and investments in our community, this position requires an eagerness to adapt to those changes and the initiative to learn outside of daily parameters
• Demonstrated attention to detail, with the ability to detect errors and make necessary adjustments accordingly
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in working with private, sensitive and other highly confidential information
• Demonstrated experience to tactfully and professionally address concerns and complaints
