The Loan Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervision in the loan processing area and for ensuring that loan operation processes and systems are compliant, accurate and up to date. The position is responsible to provide loan support when necessary and will work with the Loan Compliance Officer to keep current with changing regulations. This position will comply with the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act including Customer Identification Program, customer due diligence, identifying high risk accounts, and reporting suspicious activities to the BSA Department.


Key Responsibilities:
• Periodically review loan operating systems to ensure they are compliant, accurate and up to date.
• Serve on Compliance Committee and attend regularly scheduled meetings.
• Serve on the IT Steering Committee and attend regularly scheduled meetings.
• Serve on the Risk Assessment Committee and attend regularly scheduled meetings.
• Supervise in the preparation of the day to day loan documentation, booking of loans, loan advances, processing escrow accounts and other loan processing duties in the loan department.
• Supervises staff members to include work performance, training, time-keeping, policy compliance, etc.
• Create procedures/processes for loan staff to follow.
• Implement any new technology or changes in technology under the direction of the Technology Director. Maintains changes in technology.
• Responsible for setting up new dealers.
• Change rates on the system as needed
• Review new loans booked for accuracy.
• Keep track of attendance and vacation approval for loan processing staff.
• Perform annual evaluations of loan processing staff.
• Answer incoming telephone calls from branches and customers and assist them with resolving their problems and answering their questions.
• This position requires knowledge of all loan processing procedures in the loan department in order to serve as back up or train others in these duties.
• Assist with the creation and distribution of a variety of reports, both custom and standard.
• As part of the overall team of bank employees, this position may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities and projects.
• Serve on other committees as assigned.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or other business-related field of study or equivalent, applicable experience in a relevant area of business
• Minimum three (3) years’ relevant work experience preferably in banking
• Demonstrated proficient computer skills, preferably working with Microsoft Office products, office systems and programs, and the ability to successfully navigate and maintain current knowledge and skills working with technology; Proficient skills working in Excel tools
• Demonstrated knowledge of the bank’s loan policies and procedures
• Must be detail oriented and assure accuracy in every transaction performed, detect errors and follow through on corrections and adjustments.
• Respond sensitively to the needs and priorities of the customer; recognize and take appropriate action to meet their needs and establish an effective working relationship with customers to gain their respect and loyalty.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, including contacts with customers face-to-face or through phone calls as well as with all bank staff.
• The ability to express thoughts and ideas in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in written form to a variety of audiences and to all levels of staff.
• Project a positive image of the bank to all internal and external customers.:
• Ability to effectively manage ones’ time to complete work according to established deadlines. The ability to prioritize tasks to make the best use of time for high priority tasks.
• The ability to maintain routine and regular attendance and punctuality.
